Treasury

At the Stokey SDA Church the Treasury department is split into two sections:

           Local Treasurer
           Conference Treasurer

Local Treasurer
The local treasurer is responsible for all operational costs to run the church and for all the departmental budgets.

Conference Treasurer
The conference treasurer is responsible for all tithes and conference level offerings (e.g. Sabbath School, ADRA etc) collected, which are then sent to the South England Conference.

Tithes and Local Offerings
Please note that you can also return tithe and offerings online as well as in church.  For more details click here

Gift Aid - What is it?
‘Gift Aid’ is the Inlands Revenue’s dispensation to revert tax to charities on charitable giving.  As a treasury department we would encourage all taxpayers to join and return in their tithes and offerings.

To qualify donors must pay income and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax the charity reclaims on your donations in the tax year (currently 25p for each £1 you give). If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in you Self-Assessment tax return. If you are unsure whether your donations quality for Gift Aid tax relief, we will be pleased to offer guidance, or you may ask your local tax office for the leaflet IR113 Gift Aid, or visit: https://www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid

If you would like to be a part of the Gift Aid scheme the form can be completed online here.
